It's worth having dreams in life. They are the ones that bring an element of uniqueness to our lives, giving it meaning.
For Ania and Łukasz from the organization Fizjoterapia.Fallow your dreams, the meaning of life is to help others realize their dreams.
Barriers are there to be broken
On May 19, we met in Wrocław during the 5th edition of the Para(mi) run to find out.
We arrived at the venue around 9:00. From the start, it was clear that the event was different from regular sports events. Sometimes you don't have to say much to feel and understand the intentions. You could see the goodness in people's eyes - the omnipresent smile confirmed it.
The friendly atmosphere allowed us to reduce the tension associated with handing out clothes that we had specially prepared for the race. We had a sense of responsibility. We knew that we had more to give than just clothes. For the participants, organizers and ourselves, it was a symbol of integration with the event and the idea that the project created by the foundation carries.
A little after 10:00 a.m., a group of people waiting for their own orders began to gather around our stand. We could begin our mission. It quickly turned out that our fears were in vain. Entire families came to the stand. The same exceptional aura emanated from everyone. We received a lot of questions. We were able to build relationships. We quickly felt like part of the community. In the meantime, the event was gaining momentum. Everyone was waiting for the grand opening, which was initiated by artistic shows. The whole thing was complemented by a spectacular parachutist landing. The sight of the happiness of disabled children and their parents was uplifting. We were moved... If we are to build a company with a sense of mission, this was the moment when we felt that it was worth following the path we had set for ourselves.
After the grand opening, it was time for the Para(mi) Run. Rehabilitation through sport is the idea guiding the organizers. One of the main roles of sport has always been to bring hope and break barriers. The sight of children with disabilities competing with the support of their loved ones/volunteers gave a clear message that together you can do anything. Paradoxically, if there are limitations, maybe it is to connect and provide closeness.
Our enthusiasm was not interrupted even by the weather. The ceremonial ending and the presentation of thanks took place in the rain. However, it did not cool down the fire in our hearts. We are grateful that we were given the chance to be part of this event. The memories of this day will remain with us forever…
